Privacy & Cookie Policy
This policy explains how we collect and use your personal data when you visit athanasiadi.gr, and the cookies we use. We follow the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, Regulation 2016/679) and Greek Law 4624/2019.

2. What we collect and why
- Contact-form data — your name, email, phone (optional), subject and message, sent only when you submit the form, so we can answer your enquiry.
- Anonymous usage statistics — we run our own privacy-friendly analytics that set no cookies, store no raw IP addresses and never identify you; they only count visits and popular pages to help us improve the site.
- Server & security logs — standard technical logs kept by our hosting provider to keep the site secure and running.
3. Cookies we use
Essential cookies are always on; the rest load only after you accept them.
| Cookie | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|
lang | Remembers your language choice (essential) | 1 year |
cookie_consent | Stores your cookie choice (essential) | 6 months |
athan_admin, athan_csrf | Login & security for the site administrator only (essential) | Session |
_ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics — anonymous usage statistics (optional) | Up to 2 years |
Google Maps (e.g. NID) | Set by Google when the contact map loads (optional) | Set by Google |
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via Cookie settings.
4. Legal basis (Article 6 GDPR)
- Your consent — for optional cookies (Google Analytics, Google Maps).
- Steps prior to a contract / our legitimate interest — to reply to your enquiry.
- Legitimate interest — to keep the website secure and to understand, in an anonymous way, how it is used.
5. Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. We use a small number of trusted providers as processors:
- Our hosting provider — stores the site and its email.
- Google (Ireland/USA) — Google Analytics and the Google Maps embed, only if you accept optional cookies. Transfers outside the EU rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. How long we keep it
Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to handle your enquiry and our records, then deleted. Anonymous statistics are aggregated and contain no personal data.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase or restrict your data, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email elenaathanasiadou1973@gmail.com.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (HDPA), www.dpa.gr.
8. Changes
We may update this policy; the date above shows the latest version.
